Pinewood Derby Star Wars Star Destroyer

PFM

PFM I love and I hope that there are many individuals who still appreciate this great band, maybe perhaps the most rocchenroll band we've ever had in Italy. I know that were progressive, high quality and without exaggerated technicalities and ends in themselves (their music is evocative, at least the discs of the 70s and something of the most recent), but they have a rock 'n roll soul.
I'm not going to recommend albums or whatever, I think it is unnecessary as recommend listening to the White Album by the Beatles!

Right now I'm listening to The Island Of Nothing (hence I got the idea to write this post) and think about how the PFM is considered public opinion in Italy music, I should ask my acquaintances larger ( is bad to say "old" ahahahaha!), I'm curious to know if they leave the public at each behaved as they behave today's fans Ligabove (cited above) and Vasco Bossi (cited above) or if they were cooler or simply avoid scenes of ridiculous fanaticism while appreciating the work of the group. I sincerely hope that is the last option, the PFM does not deserve some rabble among its admirers.

return to music. And members of Cioccio really have written a page in the history of Italian music, with a success abroad unmatched even today, nobody has ever been as popular as them. For the purpose of the music does not interest me at all, they are snubbed or ascoltatissimi I care very little, has no effect on listening, I pointed out just because it is one of the reasons to respect their work, a concept that can not be to express other Italian musicians, who are not even want to think otherwise directed me dinner in the stomach.
The disc takes me more now is Chocolate Kings, one of the four discs released in English, yes, the PFM has released four LP records in English, for the Manticore Emerson Lake & Palmer, namely Photos Of Ghosts , The World Became The World, Chocolate Kings and Jet Lag. Live in the USA was also published by Manticore, but with the same content and a different title, Cook.
Chocolate Kings, I think, was unfortunate in some ways a hard ... In Italy went worse than all previous albums and the cover choice for the international version by Manticore has practically ruined the relationship between the United States and the PFM.
This cover, combined with the bicentennial dell'indipenzenza from the UK, has meant that attracted ferocious criticism, taking this as a huge choice of Manticore lack of respect for the American people, despite the timely return of the cover, choosing the one adopted for Italy (although I prefer the other and I think there's anything disrespectful, the League are not complying with the tricolor, and what the fuck!).
After two records that, in my opinion, sottovalutatissimi (Jet Lag, 1977 and Passpartù, 1978) is touring with Fabrizio De André, well documented by these two lp

I loved, although I do not go crazy for the music of De André, whom I respect very much anyway.
Now I will stop with the historical overview, I would not be boring because I do not know very well the history of the group and I would not do the typical Italian journalist (with some exceptions, of course), that is, one who does not know a fucking emeritus who is dealing with cows and write burst, when I read that the Stones' Brown Sugar has to do with the brown sugar I have lost hope ...

conclude with an anecdote, and I quote from memory because I do not have in our hands the book in question, I have not yet bought. I do not remember the title now, I can tell you that this is the story told by the PFM Franz Di Cioccio and from what little I read I got the crazy idea that is at least as Frank Zappa!
The group decides to go on tour in Japan, given the enormous success of Chocolate Kings. On the flight to Tokyo, Di Cioccio has a terrible doubt about clothing, he would perform with a kimono (have tried to have a common dress code, without satisfactory results, since Franz made the decision to play so, in honor his passion for martial arts) and asked the other opinion, did not want to disrespect to the Japanese people, mindful of over-reaction of Americans on the cover of Chocolate Kings

The others reassure and convince him to perform his usual kimono. In London he has bought some and have always said that these were written to mean something like "strength" or "courage", the usual.
day exhibition in Tokyo on Franz notes that there is a good group of fans yearning for him to decide to dedicate a few rolls and by the end of the concert turns out that it was fire in Tokyo and want to meet him because wearing their kimono !!!!!
(read the book made it better, unfortunately they are not able to quote from memory now)

Goodnight!
