| A new image taken with the Hubble telescope gives us a detailed view of the "sails" of residual 'a supernova explosion known as Cassiopeia A (Cas A) A supernova, such as that resulting in the explosion of Cas A is a giant star that collapses under the weight of its gravity. The collapsed star then ejects its outer layers into space in a glow that can briefly dominate the brightness of the same galaxy that contains it. | |
